Walk-in Bath and Shower Installation
How to install a walk-in bath
Your bathroom is one of the most important rooms in your home, which is why you need to be able to use its facilities with confidence. Many people wonder how to install a walk-in bath. This can lead to feeling unsure when it comes to making the purchase, leaving you with a bathroom that is hard to navigate and one that you feel unsafe in.
Each bathroom is different. Whether you have a small space in which you wish to install a walk-in bath or something slightly larger, the first step is booking a home visit for a member of our experienced sales team to come over. They will go through your options with you and take a look at your existing bathroom. It is the thoroughness of this step that can provide you with peace of mind, as well as answer any questions that you may have.
When the big day comes, your new walk-in bath is expertly installed in a discreet manner. Protecting the rest of your bathroom is key, so the necessary precautions will be made in order to preserve your flooring, as well as your toilet and sink, to prevent scratching.
Can a plumber fit walk-in shower?
A walk-in shower can help make your bathroom more accessible. The installation can often be a large-scale process and involves a high level of plumbing skills. Because of this, it is recommended that a professional undertakes such a project to ensure that it is completed correctly.
In order to install a walk-in bath, your existing tub will need to be removed. Thanks to our expert team, there is little damage to your plumbing, which makes installing the newer model easier. In some instances, structural changes such as widening of door frames will need to be undertaken in order to bring your new bath into your home. However, this will be raised during your home visit, so you will have a full understanding of what is happening every step of the way.
Your new bath will need to be levelled, sealed and reattached to the plumbing before use, so your fitters will ensure that this is done. After a clean and check-over, the installation will be complete!
How much does a walk-in shower installation cost?
When it comes to looking at purchasing a walk-in bathing solution, the price is one of the first things that may spring to mind. When it comes to a bespoke wall in shower installation, the price will vary depending on the scale of the installation process.
In order to secure your purchase, you will be required to pay a deposit of 50% before the manufacturing can take place. As each bathroom is unique, this deposit is required so that our expert team can provide you with the perfect walk-in shower for your home. This deposit can be paid in two instalments, the first of which is payable at the point of order and is normally around £1000. The remainder of this is due after a technical survey has been carried out.
If in the 14 days following the payment of £1000, you change your mind, you’re welcome to a full refund due to our cooling off period. If you decide not to go ahead with the purchase in the days after this period, it is likely that you will have to pay any costs that have been incurred.
How to convert tub to a walk-in shower
The best way to convert your tub to a walk-in shower is by removing your existing bath. This way, a bespoke solution can be fitted. The benefit of having this done by a reputable retailer is that you have peace of mind that your shower is safe.
If you’re looking for an inexpensive way to help you in the bathroom, you can invest in a range of different accessories, such as seats, handles and lever-action taps. These quick fixes can make a huge difference to the way you bathe and are a good purchase to make whilst you decide to invest in a walk-in bath or shower.
Who can fit walk-in showers?
For many people, using a shower is their preferred bathing option. However, when struggling with low mobility your exiting fixture can be difficult to use, especially if the space is cramped and the floor is slippery. When it comes to installing a walk-in shower, it is important that they can be used by everyone. With a range of different sized shower trays, there are endless possibilities, meaning that they are a great option for any bathroom.
If you have problems with your mobility, certain locations in your home may not seem as accessible as they once were. As a result, making improvements to these rooms, such as the bathroom, is important.
A walk-in bath or shower can help make your bathroom easier to navigate. Step-free access rails to hold on to and a seat to lower yourself into the bath help those with inaccessible bathrooms and allow you to regain a sense of independence.
