Product & Installation
All Age UK Trading stairlifts, provided by Handicare, come with a two-year warranty as standard. The warranty comes with one free service, and we also have a range of extended warranties you can choose from. Read our stairlifts servicing and support for more information.
The installation of stairlifts is quick and straightforward, usually takes just 3-4 hours. First enquire and book a free home visit. Handicare, provider of Age UK Trading stairlifts, will assess your stairs, and if you agree to proceed, an experienced engineer will install the stairlift on an agreed upon date. We will take exact staircase measurements to guarantee a perfect fit, and the engineer will install, test, and demonstrate the stairlift.

Stairlifts are fitted directly to the staircase rather than the wall. A rail is securely attached to the stair treads using brackets, so no major structural work is needed. Most straight stairlifts can be installed within a few hours by a qualified engineer, with minimal disruption to your home. It’s a common misconception that stairlifts are installed on a wall. This is not the case. The stairlift is installed on the staircase itself. Pricing & Payment
Stairlift prices can vary depending on your staircase dimensions, chosen model, and any additional extras. You can also purchase reconditioned stairlifts, which are models where the motor has been fully refurbished.
